What
Needs To Be Done About The Toxic Chinese Drywall?

The Chinese Drywall Complaint Center says, "The Chinese drywall
disaster/toxic drywall disaster affects literally hundreds of
thousands of US citizens & their families in the extreme US
Southeast, and we fear most other US States. This disaster is no
different than a massive hurricane, or
a powerful earthquake-except that in scope & size it is much
worse. The homeowner victims are totally innocent. While the
litigation process has begun, it may take years, and at the end
of the day & the litigation proceeds may not be adequate to
repair a homeowners home, to the point where it is safe to live
in, or is safe enough to be resold. We believe up to 500,000+ US
homes built, or remodeled since 2000, could have this
lethal Chinese drywall, or possibly US made tainted drywall in
them.
What needs to happen now with respect to the US imported toxic
Chinese drywall disaster?
-
Health effects due to long-term exposure to toxic Chinese
drywall: The Chinese Drywall Complaint Center says, "The US
Centers for Disease Control, in combination with the US EPA
need to provide immediate health information on what
long-term exposure to toxic Chinese drywall is going to mean
for US homeowners, and their families. We already know about
the nose bleeds, severe allergy symptoms, the headaches. If
gasses being emitted from toxic Chinese drywall will corrode
copper pipes or electrical wires, it can't be very good for
your health." Further, they say, "The Obama Administration
needs to fire all of their appointees at the US Consumer
Products Safety Commission--they don't seem to be too
concerned about the health issues, and after more than two
years, they have yet to recall one sheet of toxic Chinese
drywall, or provide any meaningful consumer protection for
any US consumer."
-
Bank foreclosures involving toxic Chinese drywall: The
Chinese Drywall Complaint Center for nearly two years has
been saying, "There needs be an immediate moratorium on the
resale of all toxic Chinese drywall home/condo foreclosures
by US banks, mortgage servicing companies, HUD, or Fannie
Mae/Freddie Mac, until proper disclosure laws are created to
protect consumers from unknowingly purchasing one of these
home foreclosures." They say, "At least for now, the bank
toxic Chinese drywall foreclosure home resale moratorium
should include the resale of all toxic Chinese drywall
home/condo foreclosures in Florida, Virginia, Alabama,
Mississippi, Louisiana and Southeast Texas. These homes will
just end up as foreclosures again--unless they are properly
repaired and properly remediated." The Obama Administration
has suggested a IRS tax relief rescue plan for the
thousands, upon thousands of US homeowners stuck in a toxic
Chinese drywall home. The Chinese Drywall Complaint Center
says, "Existing US homeowners stuck in toxic Chinese drywall
hell in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Virginia,
and Southeast Texas need a federal disaster mortgage relief
program now, not a tax write off."
-
Fixing the houses: The Chinese Drywall Complaint Center
says, "the worst part of the Wild West atmosphere
surrounding toxic Chinese drywall homes in Florida,
Virginia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Southeast
Texas is everyone is an expert when it comes to fixing a
toxic Chinese drywall house/condo/town home. Would you trust
a greedy real estate flipper or broke homebuilder on the
repair job? We don't." They say, "Again we ask, where is the
US EPA? The Obama Administration and federal agencies
failure to take charge of this disaster just allows this
disaster to fester, and get worse. We now believe a toxic
Chinese home can be repaired, but the approach has to be
methodical, the home has to be gutted, including all
electrical wiring, and the approach must be thorough."
-
Where's the sheriff? The Chinese Drywall Complaint Center
says, "In June of 2010 it was revealed that a leading
national homebuilder, along with a major South Florida
building supply house, colluded with a major toxic Chinese
drywall maker to conceal the fact that their drywall was
toxic, to completely innocent US families, who were living
in these homes. Where is the United States Department
of Justice Department?"
The Chinese Drywall Complaint Center says, "Toxic Chinese drywall
is not just in Florida, or the US Southeast--it's a national
disaster, and after being in office for 24+ months it's time for
the Obama Administration to show up. We are not going to back
down. It's time for US Federal Government to take charge of this
disaster--these homeowners have kids, and this is the United
States, not a Banana Republic."
